Vinyasa is the Sanskrit term for flow and refers to the alignment of breath and movement to create a dynamic, flowing form of yoga. Poses are held for a specific number of breaths before moving on to the next pose. Vinyasa also refers to the movements or series of movements done between each pose in the series. Perfect body alignment is not emphasized, as is the case for traditional Hatha yoga; however, corrections and/or modifications will be offered during class as needed. All levels are welcome to this class.
Pilates is a system of exercises developed by Joseph and Clara Pilates. It promotes body awareness, balance, strength, flexibility and coordination. Pilates develops core strength, as well as an overall leaner body that moves with grace and ease. It improves posture, tones muscles and strengthens the entire body.
This class is designed to help you rebalance your body and restore the natural curves of your spine. While engaging the “powerhouse” muscles of the pelvis, abdomen and back through articulation and stabilization, you can build strength, improve posture, and gain flexibility.
Reiki Flow and Restore
This 60-minute offering combines a short and mindful Vinyasa flow, restorative yoga postures, Reiki hands-on healing, aromatherapy, intention setting, and energetic empowerment. All levels are welcome. Students are invited to arrive early and set up in a supported Supta Baddha Konasana shape.
Reiki Restorative Yoga
Using universal life energy known as Reiki and restorative yoga poses, we will lead you through a journey of self-healing and care. This is a beautiful practice that is intended to allow one to go deep within and grasp one’s true nature and workout blockages, fears, anxieties, fatigue and other causes of physical discomfort.
Intentions of the class: grounding; taking root and tuning in with your abundant nature; deep Healing; letting go of grief, sadness, trauma and ancestral baggage; opening; welcoming in magical reality, love, joy and optimal health.
All levels are welcome.
This practice is safe for those who are pregnant and who have injuries.
Core and Restore Yoga
This evening class will take you through movement and connection through breath and core, into relaxed and restored poses that will allow you to fully emerge into your own personal space and find your internal peace within.
Classic Hatha Yoga
In this class postures are held for an extended period of time, focusing on the exact alignment for each individual, dependent upon their present physical capabilities, focusing on a specific rhythmic breathing pattern, and focusing attentively with the eyes for each posture, to acutely increase one’s ability to concentrate. Every posture is then alternated with repose in savasana, the corpse, or rest pose. The two-hour class concludes with approximately 10 minutes of pranayama (breath retention, or control) and a 15-minute seated silent meditation. Though the class is intense, it operates as a one-room school house, open to all levels of practitioners, from first-time beginners, to those physically challenged, to those highly advanced. Each will receive modifications appropriate to their level of practice.
Vinyasa with Alignment
In this Vinyasa class the pace is slightly slower, allowing student time to follow alignment cues, settle in the poses and, with practice, find harmony in the different postures (asanas). We’ll combine the flow of Vinywasa and the steadiness of Hatha to develop strength, suppleness and focus. At the end of class we’ll share a few minutes of meditation, the ultimate goal of yoga practice.
Hatha Vinyasa Yoga
Develop balance, clarity, and ease within sequences of traditional postures connected by breath and sustainable movement. Explore space, discover support, and relax deeply. When we fully embody the meaning of “moving into stillness”, yoga becomes one seamless process. All are welcome.
Intuitive Healing Flow
Join Reiki Master and Yoga Teacher, Nicole Lynne for this weekly offering of Intuitive Healing through Yoga! Students will meet for an opening sharing circle to discuss what is coming up for them phisically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and then Nicole will guide the group through an Intuitive Yoga Flow intended to serve the needs presented. Each class will include Vinyasa Yoga with elements of Restorative Yin Yoga, Reiki Energy Work, Aroma Therapy & Meditation as to create a unique experience for communal healing and empowerment. As always with Nicole’s classes students are encouraged to come early to meditate in Supta Buddha Konasana or the restorative position of their choice.
Open Level Flow
Class will start with grounding intentional breath, moving through surya namaskars for raising heartbeat and encourage circular energy throughout the body. We will continue with a standing flow weaved with balancing poses, followed by heart openers and forward folds. Often throughout class, I will present different types of active pranayamas(breathing exercises) and will close with a calming, cooling intentional breathing which will lead us into a closing practice of Savasana and introduction to seated meditation. Through truly studying and listening to the physical body we unfold blockages and barriers which lay beyond our intellectual perception. By diving into the unknown ocean of our bodies we can discover a wonderful sense of space, peace and clarity.
